So you could put a lever above a falling platform. By the time the animation was finished, the platform would be gone, but Jack could still get in one last jump - from the lever. Hmm, okay I guess you are right -- these two scenarios would be affected a well. Not just gold/silver blocks. Why? Because the game does NOT teach players how to do this, so no one should ever be expected to do it. No built-in mansions should ever require it, or have an advantage to doing it. Therefore, it should not be allowed. This wasn't something I really expected an answer to, Vern. Also, it wasn't something I really cared for in built-ins. I was just trying to explain what I thought some exploits of the quirk were to Brell is all. I was just mildly curious if someone reminded you of this, or if you remembered it from MM2, when I initially tried to use it in DDD Hard. It didn't bother me taking it out, and wouldn't have been used at all had I known not to use it. I'd just assumed incorrectly that because it was used so commonly in custom mansions then it would be OK. Guess not!

For some reason, I thought there was something different about the case I was trying. Re: Beta 5 Download - brell - 07-30-2011 487578497F7F7D7F761A0 wrote: Why do you mention me alone in this matter? This quirkas you call it is used in many custom mansions by many builders. To me and many more players and builders it is completely natural: Jack pulls a lever and immediately has to jump to avoid a deadly fall or a monster. I thought it was clear: I called you out because you posted the question in this topic: What is lever jump?I'd been trying to answer that question. It had nothing to do with all the custom mansions that use this unintended feature(if you prefer). I know some of your mansions use this, but so do *lots* of custom mansions. I wasn't singling you out because of that. Re: Beta 5 Download - brell - 07-30-2011 OK, sorry, I misunderstood. Re: Beta 5 Download - SoItBegins - 08-04-2011 I had an idea for how to handle the saves when smooth saving is implemented. Instead of having a confirmation box when Jack jumps on a Save pedestal, have it so that the game will do nothing unless the player has Jack jump on a save pedestal and then presses Enter to signal they want to save here. I quite like that idea Anyway, sorry for being away for a while, been busy with writing my CV and being ill. Cheers Leon |
