Cannot unlock/enter code for my MM1 HD - bkl1961 - 05-04-2025
Over the years I purchased all of Vern's Midnight Mansion games available for the Mac and the PC.
Numerous times I had to ask for a new code, everything would be fine unless a hard drive crashed, changed computer, etc.
I have tried for the last couple of years to get MM1 HD going again on my PC as I don't use my Mac very much anymore.
Vern used to help, however the last few times I asked for help I got no response. Going through the update code thing, or lost code thing has been zero help.
I just wrote a detailed email and sent it to the support email address including attachments of the confirmation emails I received when I purchased all of the games...it bounced right back to me...
Is this whole thing dead? Am I now stuck with not being able to play this game I purchased?

Vern is active again and working on getting MM games on the web so everyone can play again. There's a post about it in the Announcements forum.
Go to the Member List at the top of the page and you could send him a Private Message. Hopefully that will work.

Hello - I have no idea how to create my own post (I don't really frequent forums at all) but I have important news on how to play the game!
I've found a very strange, but workable bug that lets you use your serial key (or indeed any of these free keys actionsoft have been giving out) whenever you like - so no more missing out on the monthly expiration of the serial keys.
All you need to do is set your system date and time to within the window your key was active, and it will allow you to redeem the key and unlock the full game... insane I know, but after moving computers and needing to register again I was trying everything out of frustration since my old key wouldn't update and I didn't think I'd get a reply from the inactive support email - and it worked! As far as I know this worked on PC, I do not have access to a Mac to try this, but it definitely works on windows. I hope this helps anyone who is stuck unable to play the game or get their keys updated, or missed out on the free keys.
