OK - you are well and truly stuck, and I'm afraid you have no other option other than to go back to your last save point. Retrace your steps and disable that zapper before moving forward.
Fortunately, the last save point isn't very far back. Thank you for reporting the issue, and I'm sorry you ran into it. I plan to add a lever in the area at the top of the ladder which will trigger a moving platform that will take you back to the top, left exit.
I have a slight suspicion that this modification will not be released right away. Hmmmm... if I ever contribute a mansion again, I'm going to have to design a T-Shirt for everyone who get's stuck...as in:
