In the starting room I still had the loss of a life when first doing a ladder jump to the left and only then one to the right (while the grey bat platform is somewhere at the left).

I think I have fixed this permanently. I cannot kill my Jack in that room no matter how I try.

Jack is supposed to have enough yellow keys at this point to make sure he does not need to use the rainbow key. I have
