To answer YOUR questions.
1° In room 15940 there is indeed a hurdle that prevents Sir Jack from going back from right to left. (Since House of Coin Jack is now a Sir!)
2° Go back to the room where you saw
Magic Maze
and have a closer look. You may also restart MMaM at the save point over there.

Keep in mind that the Ultimate Maze is ... ultimate. As a puzzle, it is the toughest problem of Midnight Mazes and Monsters.
