A question: How can I make my own Midnight Mansion? Thus the Sprites, Graphics and sound modify, so that my Mansion on the High Score cunning is?

There's going to be a mansion-building contest. Win the contest, and your mansion will get its own high score page.

So... how many people want to enter? And how many mansions will win? Eight like the original game?

Not all the mansions in the expansion will be from the contest. As I understand it, the ones that get into the expansion will be the ones that reach a certain level of quality. Does anybody remember which thread it was where Vern explained some of this?

Is this the OFFICIAL announcement of the contest?

There should be some sort of official Contest thread, where Vern only could post some authorised information. Thus, we would know where to find the definite information; and everything else would be conjecture from our side.

Of course this shouldn't prevent this speculative thread here to flourish!  :D

I'm pretty sure any mansion that gets included in the expansion will get a cash prize. But once again, I'm not running the contest, and it hasn't been officially announced. This is just what I've pieced together from conversations on the forums.

Now here's a question...      When is the expansion set coming out? (and I'm not really catching up on time) When is MM 1.8 coming out?

Don't know on either count. I do know that Vern is working hard on both.

Getting included or not wouldn't be only a matter of quality, but also of fitting some "editorial guidelines" if I may say so. For instance, I find that MMaM is a high-quality mansion but I'm not sure I would favour its inclusion in the expansion pack.

Whatever. But some mansions... aren't really a "midnight mansion," you know what I'm saying? (I'm not talking about "changed" mansions) I'm talking about mansions like... for example... (Not that I'm saying its bad or anything,) Carn'O'Mysery's Carnival of a mystery. It's got a casino background, not a mansion. It is a good mansion, for a incomplete one.  ;)

Rather than start a thread, there will at some point be a web page with the official announcement. But there's still a bit of preparation to do before that becomes a reality.

I suppose we can start a thread about the contest if the web page doesn't answer all your questions, once it's put up.

I make my own 8 Mansions on the game. All original Mansion from Falcon Manor easy to Spider Palace Hard. I maked the Mansions new. I have beginning whit Chateau de Medusa Easy and building further.

Can also go, for example, which I and still another few different one on the new 8 Mansion operate and then into the Highscore cunning come later?  :)
