Title: How much would my iBook sell for?
Post by Wingy on 12.06.2007 at 03:00:05
Hi everyone,
I have an iBook, and it's been through alot of trouble, but not much. It's broken right now with a bad hard drive, and I'm getting a good 60GB one soon, or 30GB. It's got 933Mhz, 14" LCD screen, 640 MBs of Ram, 32 MBs of VRAM, no airport, no power cable, all 8 software restore CDs, and a battery that needs to be replaced. I will replace it, though, with a good $60-$100 one. But the thing that troubles me is... how much is all that worth?  I'd try to sell it to a friend or on eBay, (ebay I'll get my older brother to do) :-/ Most importanly, the ethernet port is broken. It does work, you just gotta put a peice of wood 1 cm tall beside it, and put the cable in, and make the cable stand on the cord as it's in the port. My brother might be able to fix that, but he probably won't, because it's built into the mother board.

I'm trying to save up for a mac mini, you see. I already know all the cons about it, so it's not worth your time to say them. A good $700 one, and I'm going to get a good $150-250 LCD flat screen, 19", and I already have a mouse, just need a keyboard... I'm sure I have one kicking around somewhere.  :P ::)

But the question still is: how much it's worth? My brother and my dad says $400-600, but I don't know.

:-/

BTW: When I'm talking about money, it's in Canadian dollar.  And my computer has been used by me and my 2nd older brother for 3-4 years. Oh yea, I still got the box, with a little dent in it. Also, the bottom of the iBook is abit scratched.

No power cord? How do you run it when the batter runs out?

As to the rest...search completed auctions on ebay, get a feel for the average market price, then subtract about $200 USD for the broken ethernet port. I think you'd be hard-pressed to get more than $300 USD out of it, but that's just a random guess.

I do have a power cable, but I have to bend the cords alot to make the power stable. And... it belongs to my dad...
