Title: The Birdcage
Post by aquaMat on 12.09.2007 at 17:06:57
Dear friends,

as promised I have designed a new (standard) custom mansion, to give us something to play until brell's TPI and the expansion pack comes along.
My new mansion is called THE BIRDCAGE, and is beta-tested at the moment. Release is only a heartbeat away.....   ;) :)

It's gonna be "normal", with about 60 rooms.

Here is a preview snapshot to wet your appetite:

Thanks for uploading it, Freddy !!

BTW, you forgot to update the date in the "New Custom Mansions" thread....(it's still "Last updated on Sept. 12") so people might think there's nothing new....

Unless they read this, of course  ;)

Hey, I think this is my favorite thing you've done, Matt. Nice job. The ending is hilarious.

Aquamat, your style is, as always, inimitable. It's chaotic and abstract and, in a way, beautiful. I still hate your use of traps, but I think we've agreed to disagree on that point several times, and I've come to accept it as part of playing your mansions and enjoy them for what they are.

I'm not done yet, but I've stucked my Jack! Have a look:

Wooops, ryos ?!?!

How did you manage to end there ??

You did fall from the room above, have I understood that correctly ?

I have tried to duplicate that.... but I always died when I fell from the room above !!  How did you manage to survive ?

Here's a movie that demonstrates the feat:

Hi ryos,

I haven't yet seen your movie.... but last night I guess I found out how you happened to end there alive:

You simply didn't fall from high above (the small single brick in the middle) as I did, but you "fell" from below the entrance ledge of the middle stone block, right ? That way it was possible to survive.....   (Were we Jack-stuck-hunting again, ryos ??  :D ;D)

However, not anymore.....  last night I made a slight change to the room below, which prevents you from ending there. Now you're falling straight into the arms pof the skeleton, ha ha....

But I'll post the update only after I made a few other changes (IF there should be more issues found).

Would I do that? Nah...;)

I was actually looking for a way to get that red key. I actually looked at the map and counted the bricks to make sure I would survive before jumping. It seemed a natural course of action, since there is an entire other area very nearby that can only be reached by falling from above.

As apparently no other issues are reported (well...seems Carol, Rose and myself beta-tested pretty thoroughly), I'll probably be posting an update with that minor fix (of ryos' issue above) later next week.

It doesn't seeem to be that urgent......
