Hi folks! Keep in mind that producing posts is not a target on its own. They are supposed to give information to other MMF-members and are not there to win any race for having more posts than someone else. Thx for understanding.

Chill, ;) we're just having a bit of fun. ::) Don't feel bad, Mikee, ;) that you now have less. Afterall, I'm the one who told you about MM! (Remeber that day we where talking about nice games on GameRanger all those years- erm- months ago?) |

I second that view !! With many posts made by some members I can't help but feel the primary intention is to simply raise the post count..... |

Well, if most of your posts are irrevelant to MM then people will stop reading them and consequently miss important posts from you. |

OK, Mikee, this has been bugging me for a while.......
What the heck does xD mean????? thanks, SandyBean [smiley=2vrolijk_08.gif] (remember, I am a computer "talk" newbie!) |
Title: Re: Posts Post by aquaMat on 11.12.2007 at 15:43:12
Don't worry, SandyBean !
I've been asking myself the same question for a couple of weeks now.... There's not a single post from Mikee where it doesn't say xD and hehe ! ;) :) Maybe that's some type of kid's SMS-lingo, or something ?? |
Title: Re: Posts Post by brell on 11.12.2007 at 17:43:53
In Iceland xD would mean vote for the conservatives ;)
|
Title: Re: Posts Post by Toybox on 11.12.2007 at 20:00:32
What, x means "vote for" and D "conservatives"? ;)
Icelandic, I might learn this one some day. Or Japanese, I'm not sure which one, really. |
Title: Re: Posts Post by SandyBean on 12.12.2007 at 00:50:33
OK, Now I really AM worried, aquaMat, since there are two abbreviations I have no idea about; :-? :-[ [smiley=lipsrsealed.gif] [smiley=shocked.gif] :-[
"xD" :question :question :question :question :question "SMS lingo" :question :question :question :question :question Maybe it is just a sign of getting older? I am the last of the Baby Boomer generation! SandyBean [smiley=2vrolijk_08.gif] |
Title: Re: Posts Post by brell on 12.12.2007 at 01:05:31
SMS lingo = language used when sending SMS with cell/mobile phones.
|
Title: Re: Posts Post by SandyBean on 12.12.2007 at 01:36:28
Thanks Brell, but since I still didn't know what "SMS" stood for, I let my fingers do the walking through the "Wikipedia" (Great Place!) ;D
Here, in NA (North America! ;) LOL) we use the term "Texting" for SMS, when using a cell/mobile to type messages with letters and words. xD is a typed emoticon/smilie, if turned sideways, looks like squeezed eyes and an open, laughing mouth, to show happiness, laughter, bewilderment or sarcasm. There, I have learned something for today, so you cannot say "you can't teach an old dog new tricks!". take care, Sandybean [smiley=2vrolijk_08.gif] |

This answer is from alan, and that's the translation in germany:
Gerechterweise muss man sagen, sie hat sich dann die Antwort und sie hier. This German is a little stupid, yeah. Or, it's a very very bad translater... :P I had found the translater at this page: http://translate.google.com/translate_t?langpair=en|de |

You may be interested in this German <-> English dictionary:
http://dict.leo.org/ It is very good in my opinion. Of course it does not help much to translate complicated sentences, but it is a handy tool to have. |
