There will be ALOT of cheap deaths, lots of traps that are no fair, but are sorta funny. Plus, you get like 100s of lives because its overdone with money!

Some of the traps make you HAVE to restart... ;)

Hi

yes i have tried it - it is fun - obviously because it isn't an official mansion it is a bit rough round the edges, but i have enjoyed it.  BUT i got stuck in a room - will have another look and let you know which room it is - as far as i can remember, it is a room where there are three levers to pull and one should open a grey door I think, but doesn't.

Title: Re: TIMS MANSION 2!!11
Post by Matari on 25.02.2008 at 20:27:33
Hi all again - it is room 17737.  If this could be fixed, that would be good.  Otherwise, like i said it is fun - loads of cheap deaths, but also loads of lives and save points, :) so you can get quite far.

Hey Wingy - I must say that I really did enjoy Tim's Mansion, even with all the "rough around the edges" things!   ;D Unhappy about the cheap deaths, though (like encountering some sort of killing thing at the entrance to a couple of rooms, without even a chance to avoid it).  Think that if you can clean it up a bit and add in some secrets (there are plenty of possibilities already there), Tim could have quite a nice "real" mansion!  ::)

By the way, I ended up with a ton of keys that opened nothing along the way! :o

Title: Re: TIMS MANSION 2!!11
Post by SandyBean on 26.02.2008 at 09:03:20
Well, Suztours or Wingy, perhaps you could give me a hint on how to get past room 17525, I am entering from the right, and no matter what I do, I end up opening the trap doors and there is no way across!!!  (found the secret room two rooms from the right of this, very clever!) ;D

By the way, I loved the sneaky part in room 17737 where the levers don't open the gray door, but you can open it elsewhere, very tricky.

So far a fun, interesting mansion, great work for a lil one, and I don't mind the cheap deaths, keeps Jack on his toes and there are lots of save points and extra money. :D

Thanks,

SandyBean [smiley=2vrolijk_08.gif]

Hmm, I can try on evening by my dad to home at my mac. Gives it on the mansion more way then one or you can only go one way?  :)

Title: Re: TIMS MANSION 2!!11
Post by aquaMat on 27.02.2008 at 18:34:14
I don't like it very much.....

Although I know it's been made by a 6-year old or so....for my taste it simply has too many faults, JSs, unaligned floors etc. and too many illogical things like giving out 20 shields and 10 keys in one room, even though there's only 8 "spaces" to store them.

Even if it's been only released in "Free Up- and Downloading" I feel it could have done with a bit of editing (by Wingy), just as Tim's first one...

But that's just my view, basically.....

Aqua! You know... Tim is only 5 or 6. For his talent to build a mansion is this very good. When I was 5 or 6 and I had know this game, so I have make too a mansion on this style. I love the style of Tim, and i can't wait for the next mansion of him. I will see wingy, when he is 13 then he will be a good mansion builder as you  :P :)

Post by arevn on 28.02.2008 at 08:26:24
Whee, that was fun!

Personally, I think that it could go on the 'finished' mansions board. Yes, it's silly and has a ton of JS and CD, but it also has some very good puzzles and a high exploration factor. At any rate, I enjoyed it immensely!

Aquamat, half the fun of the mansion is the number of 'mistakes' in it since they were intentional. I would never have guessed that Tim is only 5 or 6. I thought the mansion was made by an adult who really, really, really knows the ins and out of designing and who decided to see if all the 'rules' could be violated and all the idiosyncrasies exploited at once. In short, I think it's a brilliant joke. Tim has one heck of a future as a designer ahead of him!

Arevn :D

I liked Tim2 (well, except for 17525!) He balanced all the cheap deaths with lots of lives and money, which made it fun. The rooms with multiple monsters were timed really well. It was difficult to pass but could be done with practice. 17737 was another favorite room. Good job Tim  :)

As I said.....
....it's only my view....it's certainly a question of taste.

Wingy, or anybody with some help to offer, where are you???  I would like to see if I can finish this silly, big mansion!

thanks,

Indeed there is a code (a Cesar Shift of order 13 if you really need to know). Find out more in this fascinating book:

http://www.amazon.com/Code-Book-Science-Secrecy-Cryptography/dp/0385495323

::)

For more practical advice: click on the link to www.rot13.com and copy-and-paste Josephine's encrypted text into the big window there. Click on "cypher" and you'll get the clear advice.

By the way, if you want to encode a clear-text advice, you can use exactly the same procedure - copy and paste your text in the same window and apply "cypher" again.

Thanks Josephine for the hint, finally got it.  ;D That Sneaky Little Tim (AND Wingy).

It was a really fun mansion, with some surprisingly good twists for such a young designer.  I tell you, that room; 17737 had me stumped for a bit!

Keep up the good work, looking forward to your next, and I agree with earlier posts, that if it was smoother as far as not falling through floors between rooms, it could go on the CM list!

take care,
SandyBean [smiley=2vrolijk_08.gif]

Did you notice the change of background in room 16943 depending on whether you enter that room from left or right?

Wingy, how did you do that?

Title: Re: TIMS MANSION 2!!11
Post by Toybox on 04.03.2008 at 02:09:45
Mmmh, there must be custom backgrounds I haven't installed - every now and then I enter a room and am greeting by a 'miaow' - that's my Error sound, don't worry.

Which doesn't answer the question, obviously  ::)

Title: Re: TIMS MANSION 2!!11
Post by Mikee on 04.03.2008 at 19:21:21
Hmm, yeah i have already the background for the matrix on this rooms.. You have forget one background to send us them, or not wingy? :)

Title: Re: TIMS MANSION 2!!11
Post by Wingy on 14.03.2008 at 07:33:23
GAH I've been away for awhile. PLEASE NOTE:::

There are MANY Jack-stucks in the mansion, intentionally. TIM DOES NOT WANT YOU BEATING IT. :o

There are many save points I've put in before these permanent "traps."

I've played this mansion and it's perfectly possible. Its just that you would get annoying from these traps, but you gotta learn from your mistakes and try again. Also, you get like 100 lives at the beginning, so you won't loose.

This mansion will stay like this, there will be NO more updates. Please stop asking for me to change it, because Tim goes crazy if I touch his mansion. He plays it everyday, he'd notice.

BTW: that custom background is this background, the one with the graveyard and stuff one of our mansion-eers let time use in his first part of this mansion.

Wingy -
Please tell your brother his mansion was a lot of fun and a challenge - to say the least! His not wanting us to win made winning mandatory! Tim's Mansion is a lot like my grandson's mansions -  I think you need a light heart to play and appreciate mansions made by our younger designers.

Hi Tim,

I had a ball in your mansion!   [smiley=thumbsup.gif]
You should consider calling it "The Law of Attraction"    LOL

I felt invincible....no matter how many negatives came at me, or cheap deaths, prosperity was always around the corner......VERY UPLIFTING!

I almost had a heart attack when I saw all those spiders.......lol
Loved the twist on the spiders eating up all those crazy eyeballs!  About time too!

I had to stop at the 1st save. But I will definitely check out rest.  Especially when I need a "Feel Lucky" feeling.

Believe it or not, I'm still smiling over all that mooooola. [smiley=2vrolijk_08.gif]

Thank you for lifting my spirits.

Keep up the inspirational, creative work.
