Title: My crazy Jack
Post by Freddy on 31.08.2008 at 16:46:11
Euh ... my Jack is not a normal one. Never was. Was for a period in hospital: Bedlam.

Well in the starting room of Octupus Mansion, he was able to open the blue door in exactly 10 seconds.  8-) And then getting stuck on the second floor, left of the red door.  ::) See both images.

I'm impressed :) I tried and made it too [in less than 10 secs ;)]
Not really intentional of course... made a fix but I guess it's a little too early to upgrade...

It is never too early to upgrade to prevent a JS

Maybe have a look at an other issue in the startingroom. It is possible to jump from the 2nd saving pedestal in the upper right corner to a 3rd one in the middle. I don't think it is supposed to have 2 saves in 1 second?

perhaps, I'll have a look at the starting room then, and send the update. Have to have a look at the presumed JS and cd that josephine sent too

[edit] on the png it looks like you didn't save at the first pedestal, but instead went into the brown section?
Because you can't get up to the second pedestal without the red key from the brown section? So the "two saves in one sec" is because you chose it to be that way?

I recall a room in Bedlam with like 11 saves in 11 secs? ;) [/edit]

;D I must assume that Bedlam is crazy.

But here, my Jack (no, I am not involved ;))  played 'as normal as possible'. When he saved in the upper right corner he could jump to the left to the middle saving pedestal. But not back.

I didn't see the sleeping jack at first... that was not intentional, but I have fixed it. sending you the update as soon as the JS josephine asked about are solved

I did the same thing in Room 15099 - jumping from the green pedestal, over the wall to the left, onto the silver Save pedestal - but not back. Neat mansion, none the less!!!

In room 14496, I jumped to the left from the middle platform (to the left of the spider) - trying to get the money bag I saw descending the gold pole - and now cannot get out. Not sure if I'm missing something or it's a JS. Thanks.

ah it's the same as josephine pointed out. Have fixed it along with the issue in the starting room [don't think you can get behind the red door now freddy ;)]
It's not really a JS if you jump to the third save though, since you jumped over a [....] door to get there, and there's a [....] door to the left as well. Thus going up the ladder to arm 4, you find a [....] key to open the door to the right instead, and do arm 3 after arm 4 and find another [....] key... but since the doors are hidden, you don't know that until it's too late... But I fixed that too so I think you cannot jump in there. Sending the update to Freddy as we speak [as I type]

Another question - initially I did not go up the vines to the red, purple, blue keys in the blue area after the ladder maze. I went around the maze again, into the blue area, up the vine to the keys, then I attempted to go to the lowest level to exit the area. I jumped on the sinking block in room 15892 before I noticed the blocks were silver. Now I'm stuck there!

It's not another question, it's the same... fixed it though and sent the update to freddy... [put a "switch to gold"-brick in the corner]
[edit]
seems to be the same questions in two different threads... josephine on the one hand and you on the other... fixed the two issues though[/edit]

Hi OTG !!!

And you are great, along with your huge and fun mansion Octopus!!!

I really enjoyed the flow, and the way my Jack was having to go from room to room and then back to the same room another way, kept me guessing how we were eventually going to get to those spots.  Very imaginative, and it was nice to have a break from the sometimes Super Difficult mansions (not mentioning any names here.... F----y!   ;))

A couple of times my Jack was a little bored, I remember one section; doing all the ladders, jumps over lava, and few gold coins to grab, and hoping we would not have to go through that again, but otherwise, it was very well thought out, creative, and had a fantastic exploration factor.

As we only got about 60 0dd % secrets, we will be going back in there after a bit, to find all the hidden treasures!  ::)

Keep up the great creations, and thanks for building us some Fun!

thanx for the fine words sandybean :D

I admit that the jump-over-lava-ladder-maze is perhaps a bit monotonous with few treasures and few coins, [even though at least two persons went through it twice at once and got stuck ;)] but I thought it would be nice for a mansion to contain "a little for everyone", some people like mazes... not to mention any names  [f****y] :)
plus I first made the normal-hard version, so this Easy is a peel-off from that one meaning it's not as good looking and perhaps not as challenging all the time [which is good since it's an Easy version :)]

blah blah stop talking start building! :D

That was probably my least favorite area, Jack does get bored without lots of treasure to find!   ;D

OK, you guilt-tripped me into it   ;)   I've been playing with the mansion builder and have two rooms finished. It's not much, but it's my first completed rooms ever so I'm quite pleased.  And who knows, maybe there will be a whole mansion some day?

but in the normal-hard version, there are more treasures, plus a few enemies... perhaps a bit less boring then... I hope :D

it wasn't meant as request to anyone but myself, I tend to babble sometimes, being a teacher and all :D but if it resulted in more mansions, great! :D

Nice mansion, and I love octopuses too :D

As for the difficulty, it seemed more than 'easy' sometimes (all the more since it appeared to be steadily increasing). Loads of nice tricks though, a very pleasant mansion to walk through  :)

nice work toybox! Last time I played it I had 75% secrets, 18 lives and only 48350 in gold... but on the other hand it only took me 50.40 ;) Strange one can miss the secrets placed by oneself :D

After figuring out how the layers and sprites work it's really fun! One of my rooms belongs in a very scary castle [smiley=evil.gif]
