Title: Old mansions
Post by Leon on 02.11.2008 at 05:33:58
Hi,

I have a feeling that this is is not going to be an easy problem. I just wanted to collect some mansions from my old mac (OS 9.2) and the files are Unix Executable File. I change the settings to open with Custom mansion builder and I get this message -

and when I click update and it finishes updating ResIDs there are no rooms and when I created them there were loads of rooms.

Could someone please help me?

Thanks
Leon

It only asks you to update the version if you're going from Midnight Mansion original to the expansion beta editor.

You must be opening the Expansion's editor, because if you made a mansion from Midnight Mansion version 1.0.0 you could still open it no problem now with the current original Midnight Mansion.

Wingy, it looks like Leon is trying to go from OS 9 to OS X.

Leon have you tried sending an email to Vern through support@actionsoft.com

See the Support page here:  http://www.actionsoft.com/support.html

Good luck.

That error message indicates that something is seriously wrong with your mansion file. I'd look for another way to transfer the files from your old Mac to the new one, like maybe archive them first, or try emailing them, or using StuffIt to stuff them... hopefully one of those will allow you to transfer them without them getting corrupted in the process.

You can also do "Get info" on the mansion files before and after moving them, to compare file sizes, and see if the entire file got transfered.
