Title: Thanks for this new version
Post by Semi-Native on 14.08.2009 at 19:06:17
I played through this "easy" version and wow, it was great. Jack discovered large areas never seen before, but still only got 66% secrets! He can't wait to go exploring again. This is a masterpiece of a mansion, the design is incredible.

Looking forward to the next one.
:D

I noticed that you used quotation marks around "easy" and I agree.  It is definitely easier than the original but it is still not an easy version.  More like normal.  If Leo agrees I will change the difficulty degree from easy to normal.

PS hats off for Missy for having the patience to beta test the original.

Yes, I see it like that, too.

However, I'm very glad that you have done this..... and it's a lot of fun to have another go at it.

Thanks!

Brell: Sure, no problem. I thought myself that "easy" might be a bit of an understatement, since the original was so hard, that this easy version might best qualify as "normal". So go ahead and change it. And sorry for the misunderstanding!

I am glad though that the easier version fulfills its purpose and makes people play the mansion again, because obviously that's what it's all about: To play MM custom mansions and not be scared away by them  ;)

And yes: Missy almost went ballistic testing the original! Kudos to her!

Difficulty changed to "Normal".  Does not affect the name of the mansion  ;)

If I remember correctly Freddy said once the Psychotronic was the best MM player ever.  I think Missy is giving him a lot of competition having had the patience of testing the hard version.

Not only does Missy have amazing patience, but she also did most, if not all, of that testing without using the "cheats" that, at least for me, make beta-testing much less frustrating.

Wow, I agree, Sherry. When I beta test, I cheat by giving Jack extra lives so I can concentrate on looking for things. Then I go through without cheating.

Although we are getting off-topic here I'd like to add that sometimes I ask the builder for permission to add extra saves while I'm testing.  Saves a lot of time in the long run.

I can not get into the Cardinal's Palace... I see Leo has not been online in ages. Does anyone know what I am doing wrong?

[not that you know what I am doing, I just have not figured how to get in...]

It would help if you post a room number telling how far you've got. You can also attach a screen shot of  the room.

Hi!
You need to do some lateral thinking. Try the vines and see what you can find. Ladders and staircases can be hidden. There is another way to get into this palace.

I've been to the roof and the other levels. Something is eluding me... I've tried to find hidden triggers, sub floor walkways, etc.

This is a very clever Mansion! (I agree with the past comments about "easy" being more of a normal!

Feeling very dense...

Hi slunetta- highlight the following:

You can't actually get into this part of the palace. It's just a teaser for the next installment called Jacque's Revenge.

Pretty sneaky, huh?  ;D  Hope you're having fun with this beautiful, clever mansion.
