Grayson and I are hoping for a hint for 15910 - I think we are making it much more complicated than it really is - meaning we have spent two days trying to figure it out.
Thanks.

Glad to know I wasn't the only one Sherryl. There were several rooms where I gave up because I couldn't figure out the puzzle. This was one of them.

I'm having trouble in 16711. I went back to 15910 to change the gold/silver bricks for the helpful goblin in 16711, but then there's no way not to step on a floor lever to change them back to silver. Unless I'm missing another lever somewhere.

I like the new music tracks, and I'm enjoying the mansion when I'm not stuck.

Semi-Native -

There is another lever - just takes a while to find!

Hi Leon -
Grayson and I found a probable JS in room 16715. The lever does not reset when Jack dies so the only way "out" is to go to the previous Save - a long way away. I know the sign warns of his demise, but that seems a bit rash! Also in 16504 the gremlin often falls through the floor when the bricks change color. Not a problem with the game as far as I can tell - just a glitch.

Hi, I'm already at day three with room 15910  >:(, I'm on the verge to leave the Grotto alone. However, a significative hint would be very very welcome at this point ...

Ok, I'll try to get to these as soon as possible however it I might not be able to until the weekend

G & I found a couple more JS's and STILL no solution to 15910! I had to come home today - bummer. AquaMat should know the answer since he beta-tested but, so far, no response from him.

Hey,

I've quickly made some notes about most of the problems encountered and hope that may be of some use:

16715 - This is part of a well hidden secret of the mansion so I'm not really too sure if I'm going to allow people to try again, however, I will put something to advise you to search the entire level before pulling the levers

16504 - This is a glitch that I might report to vern. At least I think it's a glitch, I can't seem to stop this from happening

15910 - This room seems to be the most troublesome. However I have a few hints that may be helpful (or not) if you still need help, I'll try uploading a video walkthrough for that room:

Did you know that you can toggle the gold/silver blocks while the moving platform is still in their outline?

The main pattern of the platform is up left right down

I hope these seem to help. If there are any more problems then feel free to say ;)

Thanks
Leon

yaay! solved 15910 and from the comments, I was expecting it to be worse. It *is* tricky and timing is incredibly important. Two things I found crucial:

- Understanding the movement of the moving platform
- Having an idea where the platform needs to end up

At that point, it was a matter of working backward from where I thought the platform needed to end up to where it starts.  Even knowing that, it's very easy to make a mistake due to timing gold/silver toggles.

Hint: If the moving platform hits the ceiling directly above it's starting point, then you might as well restart the room.

I really admire the design of this room, difficult without the difficulty being lethal. Out of curiosity Leon, how long did it take you to tweak this room until you were satisfied with it? I bet it was a while considering the speed of the platform

:)

Hi Leon -
15702 - if Jack starts climbing down the ladder, he can 'slip' between the bat platform and the bricks, falling to his death, and reappearing at the top with no bat platform. Leaving the room does not reset it. The same thing happens if he falls off the platform in the room below, 15902. He reappears in 15702 with no platform.

re. 16715 - once Jack gets to that room, he is stuck on that level - there is no place for him to explore - only room 16716.  We did get the hint and pulled the levers correctly the first time, but that hint could easily be missed so Jack's only choice is to "commit suicide" in the lever room for however many lives he has left and go back to that last Save?

There are several spelling/grammar errors - do you care to fix them? It is a great puzzle mansion!

Thank you very much. I think overall, this room took me about 3 to 5 days, I was just thinking of making a new puzzle in the MM2 game that hasn't really been done before and came up with this (I may be wrong, there may be a puzzle like this already) I failed and had to restart the puzzle about 2 times but I finally got there in the end.

I found out that I accidentally made one side of the broken ladder in layer 5 which made jack think he could climb down it. That has now been fixed

I must've forgot to put an escape route  :-[ but I've now fixed it. I have also fixed some of the grammatical errors and spelling mistakes bearing in mind that some of the signs in the village are meant to be grammatically incorrect because the people from the village do not have very good english skills.

I have now PMed the admins with the latest version of the level and should hopefully be up soon :D.

Thanks
Leon

Now I am wondering if I am trying to solve 15910 incorrectly. It was my assumption that I was trying to put the moving platform in the middle of the bridge so Jack can get across. I have sort of "accidentally on purpose" left the money bag on top of a brick and had it land by switching brick colors. Perhaps I just can't make the long jump across the bridge?

Title: Re: Congoron Caves (now goron grotto)

Finished it. You came up with some innovative new puzzles which was great! A few nitpicks here and there:

- It didn't seem like you were playing fair in rooms 16114-15514 with the hidden blocks that stop some of the blocks that Jack might be riding on. Seems like there should be some sort of tough escape if Jack accidentally traps himself on the sides. If not that, then at least some sort of warning. Still, I really like the obstacle in these rooms - something I don't think I've seen done yet.

- Was there some sort of hint that I missed in the room of levers where if you make a mistake, then you're zapped? Perhaps there was and it was too subtle for me.

- I felt like the layout initially was pretty strong with great puzzles along the way, but I felt a little let down by the layout towards the end. It seemed a little disjointed in the end with the various bonus areas - esp. if you wanted to open all the yellow doors and had missed the yellow key early in the game.

Still, it was very creative and I had a lot of fun with it. I love mansions that force me to think about what I have to do next. Thanks for sharing it!

Finished but with only 86% secrets. I liked the mansion, it had some really good puzzles and I like the music.

Thanks!

Hey,

The newest version has now been uploaded. This includes the following fixes:

*16716 - Made an escape route so that you can easily get out if you failed the secret in 16715 or if you want to go back to it later
*15702 - I accidentally made one side of the ladder in layer 5 so jack thought he could climb down it only to fall to his death. I have now made in layer 4 and 6
*15910 - Added a few small hints so people wouldn't end up being there for a couple of days
*16715 - Added advise to search the entire level to find the combination
* General - Amended some spelling mistakes and grammatical errors

Thanks
Leon

P.S. From this level, what room(s) were your favourite and which puzzles would you like to see in future levels?

15910.... I guess the platform does not ever get to the bridge gap but I have no clue what is expected...
help?!!?

I would recommend moving the platform to the far right before anything else then it may become clearer

Highlight above if you really need another hint at the 15910 puzzle

I feel so stupid about this one - I can move the platform to the right; I can trap it between the gold bricks across the way; I can trap the money bag so it falls to the right side of the gap; I can trap the the platform so it goes off of the screen at the top and appears way on the right side, yet I cannot figure this out. DUH!

You are not alone. Hopefully someone will post the answer, or at least tell us where it needs to go if not how.
Its unfortunate because other than this room it seems a well put together level.

You have to maneuver the moving brick so that it goes down exactly in the center of the gap that Jack needs to jump over. So you have to keep switching the gold/silver bricks until you get it right. Look at the gold/silver bricks and think about the movement of the tile. Then you should be able to figure out where the moving tile needs to stop (as it's going right) so that when it goes down, it will be in the middle of that gap.

OK

This will be the last hint I am going to post about the 15910 puzzle. I've attached a screenshot of the room and placed two numbers on it. Those numbers represent where you should try to aim getting the moving platform to.

Good Luck ;)

Thanks for the tips, I don't wish to spoil it for anyone else so feel free to pm me if wanted. My question is:I did solve it without going to position 1 so...
if I can get across the gap without going to Number one will I miss something.

Again, thanks for your help, great level.

If you mean if you can jump over the gap to the other side so is it possible but hard. I have done it because I can't solve the puzzle.

When I initially solved it, I didn't go all the way over to point 1, either. I've never used that exact route, but close.

It wasn't until looking at that image that I realized there are two possible routes (which are really just variants of each other) that can be used to get the platform to drop to the point where Jack can jump to it.

No, I was unable to jump it without the block. Once I knew the block would go there I figured out how to do it, but I did not go over to position 1. I just wanted to make sure there wasn't a switch/trigger at position 1 that might give me something like a yellow key or something.

Anyway thanks all for the help/tips.

I may have found a Jack stuck in Goron Grotto, screenshot attached. I got here by crouching on the moving platform, doing that somehow knocked me off and I landed here. As far as I can tell, there's no way down, and killing Jack doesn't help, he reappears on top of the wood platform in the same place.

Even though I almost used the 12ga solution at one point I finally finished with 100% secrets (15) and 17000 gold.I'm sure there were a few coins I missed, but this was one of the best levels I've EVER played.

Loved it and hope to see more.

On the early part of this game, I have not found if there is another red key so that I can enter the 'top right' red door (instead of taking the slide pole down to the other parts of the grotto). It seems to be an either/or choice - I can get the green key by using my red key to get across the gap to the green door's key(where the blue key is), or I can use the red key to reach the upper right part of the early part of the grotto.

Is there another key in the first part of the game that I have missed? (Thanks for any tips)

Jim
