Title: A couple of issues
Post by seawinder on 21.10.2011 at 12:42:06
I'm running MMHD on a G5 Mac (Power PC) with OS 10.4.11. Command-D to see secrets attained and room info only works intermittently -- seems to be okay when the program first starts, but then nothing happens. Also, at the end of mansions, I'm getting a funky situation where it gives me a Save/Cancel option but won't accept any mouse clicks to do either.

Same here, don't remember though which OS exactly but it's a 10.4.something. It seemed to me that there were two mouse pointers, the regular arrow and the "scary green hand", separated by quite a distance but following eachother. I tried to click with the arrow at first and nothing happened. When I moved the mouse to the left, the hand appeared (I have two screens, it probably was on the other screen) and then I could click (quit or whatever I was clicking, don't remember)

Seawinder, can you explain more what you mean by each of these? What happens when Command-D doesn't work? Was it already on, but then it stops working? What if you select "Display Stats" from the File menu?

When the does Save/Cancel option appear? Are you jumping on a save pedestal? Or, does this appear on the beat-the-mansion screen? Can you take a screenshot of it please? (Screenshots of both would be helpful if anything weird is shown in the first case.)

Hi Vern. Sorry to be slow replying. Regarding the first issue, Command-D (or the pull-down menu) works until you save on a save pedestal. As soon as you jump back down off the pedestal, neither Command-D nor the pull-down menu does anything (actually, pressing Command-D highlights the Midnight Mansion HD menu heading momentarily, but that's all). You can pull down the menu, but choosing "Display Stats" does nothing. If you suspend the game, quit and restart the program and reopen the game, it works again until the next time you save on a pedestal.

The other issue occurs after you've finished a mansion -- it's the dialog to save your high score. I'll try to get a screen shot next time I finish a mansion. Can you remind me how to do it?

Pip Moss

You take screenshots by pushing Command-Shift-3.

seawinder, I'm totally able to duplicate both of these issues (they are actually the same issue) on my laptop. I will be looking into it!

Your second issue is a result of the first: the "Save Game" dialog never goes away! The game simply goes fullscreen on top of it. Odd!

I have discovered the cause and fixed it. Once 1.0.2 is released, you won't have trouble with this anymore.
