Title: Lost connection from Part 1 to Part 2
Post by gdwright on 18.01.2012 at 05:16:25
I just downloaded the Midnight Mansion HD upgrades from the Apple App store and now I can play part 1 and part 2 separately but have lost the link between the two parts. How do I get this back?

A follow up to the lost connection, I tried to play a saved game from yesterday, only to be told that mansion is not available until I register. So how do I get back to my previous setup where I had purchased both parts and had linked up?

I advise you to post this directly to ActionSoft's support.

The first issue, that you've lost the link, is due to the Mac App Store *requiring* me to remove this. So there is no way to get it back. I tried to reason with them about this, but they would not budge, and would not post my bug-fix update until I removed the link.

The second issue is a bug introduced in 1.0.2 that I'll have to fix.

There is good news though: for now, you can avoid BOTH issues by downloading Midnight Mansion HD directly from ActionSoft. (Click on Free Demo.) When you launch it, it will run fully unlocked, as long as you have previously launched both Episode 1 and 2 that you purchased from the Mac App Store.

And the ActionSoft version has both Episodes 1 and 2 in one app. And no bug with opening saved games.

This "solution" will work until Apple releases a future OS with "sandboxing" at which point I'm not sure you'll be able to do this anymore. At that point, I can possibly issue registration codes to those who own the Mac App Store version, so they can play the ActionSoft version which has both episodes in one.

The only thing is that I can't do this for hundreds or thousands of customers, so it depends on how many people need registration codes.
