Title: Midnight Mansion HD Speedrunning
Post by 86 on 03.02.2019 at 10:40:35
Ok, so this is going to be a weird post, as I think I am the first person (in the world) officially to do this (correct me if I'm wrong). I don't know where to put this post, so I am turning it into a hello (if it goes somewhere else can an admin move it please).

Hello, I am 86. I speedrun Midnight Mansion HD. On the day of February 2nd, Midnight Mansion HD was accepted into speedrun.com so that all people who decide to speedrun the game can have their scores shown online for all to view. I guess according to the "record books" I have the world record for beating MMHD in the fastest time at precisely 3 hours 53 minutes 2 seconds. I know I am not supposed to brag but I don't know how else to say that.

But what am I doing here telling you who read this about my speedrunning? The only thing I am here to ask is for you to join me. Most of you will probably read over this and go on with your day, but it would 'brighten my day' if you were to download a free screen recorder {https://www.ispringsolutions.com/ispring-cam}, use a timer (like google or another program), open your favorite mansion on easy, normal, or hard, and play through it. Maybe some of you have lost your passion for playing MM. You played all 11 mansions, some custom ones too, and then moved on. But maybe, just maybe, you can relive some of the passion with the thirst for speed. It's quite lonely on the MMHD leaderboards. And all I ask of you is to join/beat me. If you wish to see these 'fast times' for MMHD, you can go to www.speedrun.com/mmhd .

And by the way, you don't need to do the whole game and waste 4 hours. There are also leaderboards for individual mansion runs. The shortest mansion takes only about 9 minutes to beat! So it won't take that long either! Can you guess what mansion only takes 9 minutes to play though? Yep, you guessed right, Spider Palace  :o :o :o !!!

Just beat Nightmare Mansion in 9:56. I was streaming to Twitch, but I must not have had been saving my stream so I have no footage. Could have been faster but only by a few seconds. I sure hope I didn't lose a near perfect run to a silly mistake.  :( Also some updates nobody cares about. I completed Cathedral Towers in 26:15 and The Great Escape in 17:38. Also I did Tomb of Princes in 11:11. I'm having tons of fun speed running this game. So you should join me!  ;D

House of Baron Garneau is now able to be done in less than 10:00! I dont know what the final time will be. I still need to refine the mansion. Maybe even less than 9:00? Huge step forward for Any%. Since nobody replies to my thread this is now going to become a journal of speedrunning accomplishments for me. Maybe Any% will drop below 3hrs.

I am going to be completing the last section of Knight Mansion without grabbing a lantern. I will be doing the dark rooms in the dark, I hope this is a significant time drop.

I just beat Spider Palace in 7:59! I am so happy to have at least one mansion go under 8 minutes. I will soon be doing Any% runs (the whole game at once) and I will post more info soon.
