Hello!

First off, it's been a long time since I was active on here but I hope people are doing fine! (previously known as "Mikee" on here) :)

To my issue:
I would like to play Midnight Mansion again on my Windows computer AND also on my old MacBookAir (OS 10.6.3) where I can start building them as well.
The problem is, I can't download the game anymore from the website, neither the Windows version nor the Mac Version link does work anymore. Is there any way to download the game?

(NOTE: I do have MM1, MM HD and MM2 still on my MacBookAir already and working, but I want to experience it on my Windows PC too)

EDIT: Updating my old Code doesn't work anymore and using the "Free Code" to update doesn't work as well, sadly can't experience the whole game like this again  :(

ActionSoft, the company behind our Midnight Mansion game, doesn’t support it anymore.

Lucky you, you still have a Mac to run all versions of MM including the builders. To say something. In 2019 I did start searching for an old mac with 10.5 (leopard I think) to be able to play and build again. It took me more than two years to find one.

I assume you have a special reason to use the windows versions as well.

Like you said, I'm a bit lucky I do own my old MacBookAir and still runs nowadays even though the battery is dead, only runs with the powercord now. From there I'm able to build the mansions at least, playing might be a bit difficult cause of the power the machine still has.

Sooo, for my current situation, I made it work to unlock the game (MM HD on Windows) with the Free Code thankfully, with some works arounds with the date settings on the PC I made it work.
Now I even have a running VM with Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard) running under my newest Windows PC, and also a functional MM HD on it too. The only sad part about it now is, I can't build the mansions on there as I would need an updated registration code for the "Original Midnight Mansion" on Mac.

I can't find my old code from way back then and sadly I don't have access to my old E-Mail anymore as well, so the only option for now is my old MacBookAir to work / build there.. I thought that the Level Builder 1.2.2 that could be downloaded seperately for the HD would work if I made the HD version work on the computer, but sadly nope :(

I also tried to "buy" the game again (Original Midnight Mansion for Mac) and it did work somehow for the payment over Paypal but I haven't recieved a E-Mail nor a code for the game yet, so I guess that one is also unsupported :-/

What I was aiming for is to build a new mansion that I can convert to the HD format later and also looking through my old unfinished stuff (many MM1 and MM2 mansions I never finished haha).
I know it's a longshot, and it's a little sad to see that the game itself is rather dying over the years and hardly known or played at all, but what I would like to see is the game becoming at least somehow supported again or at least getting known "again" for many other people who may not have heard of it, after all, I still love the game very much, and hopefully when my new mansion is ready, it animates people to play it as well or give it a try! :)

I don’t have any experience with Midnight Mansion on Windows. I even don’t know which versions (1, HD, 2, builder 1 & builder 2) there are for that platform.

On my old mac I have MM HD, MM2 and its builder. Indeed, no working code for MM1 & builder anymore. I’ll try to explain how my work-arounds work.
- The original MM1 games I play on MM HD.
- All approved custom mansions made with the MM1 builder are still downloadable on this boards. Each of those mansions that have my interest I convert to MM2.
- That is also possible for own unfinished stuff.

Converted mansions do open in MM2 and its builder, but the converted version doesn’t work perfect.

Q: Do you know how to convert? Or do you want information about the issues with a converted mansion? Thanks to brell I got all information. It is somewhere on the boards. If you want to I will try to direct you.

I can’t promise you anything since buying the game is indeed also without support. But whenever I find a solution there will be the need of a current working mail address. Will you check/change that in your profile? As administrator I will be able to see the change. Only then I will be able to start ‘action’.

The only version for Windows is Midnight Mansion HD, as the others are only available for Mac, and sadly so is the Level Builder. There is no way to create mansions on Windows, but at least an option to play them in an HD format.

For the Converter, I've never done it or know how it works exactly, but when the time comes I will read myself into this and see if I can make the magic work or not.

The only problem I have at this moment is just a code for the original MM1 on Mac, so I could use the Level Builder on my VM Mac as well and also makes it a lot more easier to work / play that way.

Yes it is such a shame that the link is broken. I love this game so much and it was a huge part of my childhood. I really hope this game doesn't become lost to time as more computers with the download file break down. I wish Action Soft would recognize the small cult following and turn the game over to open source, or at the very least maintain the website. I can only hope for the best.

I am always happy when members still seem to be around. Together with some other administrators and members we are trying to give ‘our’ game a new life. So stay tuned!
Concerning the not working links about buying the game I had contact with the boss of ActionSoft. He is working on it but it may take some time to get things rearranged.
Are you having hard- and software to play MM1, MM HD and MM2 (and the builders for MM1 and MM2)?

I like to make profit of this post to make an appeal to all members who are once in a while visiting these boards without logging in. Will you please login even if you don’t want to make a post or a reply. It is important that we, administrators, know who is still interested in this cult game. To say something: while I am visiting custom mansions I take notes about some issues that I want to report to the designers. It is helpful if I know in advance if they are still interested in the game.

I am most certainly still interested. I look in occasionally. I'll endeavor to remember to log in.
