Actionsoft's latest game, Midnight Mansion 2: The Haunted Hills,  includes 28 mansions. The 8 Built-in mansions have 3 difficulties along with 4 extra custom mansions. We don't have that many other custom MM2 mansions yet. Design your own custom mansion! Info below.  You can find out more about the game here.

The original Midnight Mansion game contains over 150 mansions. The 8 included mansions which have 3 difficulty levels each, and about 115 approved custom mansions which you can download here and also several freely uploaded mansions. To know the difference between these three types of mansions, click here.

Are you a creative person and thinking of designing a mansion yourself? Or want to know about how to upload it? Click here and we'll show you! You'll find guidelines for betatesters here.

News:
Midnight Mansion 2: The Haunted Hills version 1.0.2b has been released. This fixes a bug in Jasperlone Mountains Hard. Simply re-download the game, bring over your custom mansions folder from the old version and play on. All your saves and high scores will not be changed.

Midnight Mansion HD (MM1) is now available at the Mac App Store and at the Actionsoft website. A Windows version is now available.

Here is a list of downloadable MM1 HD ready custom mansions, which also work in the Windows version of the game.

The MM2 custom mansion Hanging Gardens of Babylon by Freddy/SandyBean/Josephine/brell was updated on 19. Nov 2023 to add a fourth section. Available here

Bugsy Malone's Aquarium
25.01.2007 at 05:26:48

While testing aquaMat's
Palace of Gore
I came across a new type of game-quit.

In the attached mansion there isn't a real problem to go to the right to the next room. But returning to the left is a problem. Jumping leads to all kinds of death, which is normal due to the snake and the lava. However, WALKING to the left, when the platform arrives at the very edge of the room leads either to death, either to ... game-quit.

Vern?

EDIT: updated.

I changed the starting room.  Jumped back to the left room and landed on the snake.  Next I walked to the left room - and succeeded!

Huh I changed the starting room. Was indeed wrong.

Undecided Did you try more than once? Here it always ends with death or game-quit. Sometimes I have the feeling that there may be a difference between playing in a window or with full screen ...

I was playing in a window.  Will look at it the other way later.

EDIT: Tried it again now in full screen mode - and succeeded again!

See my notes I sent you...Freddy Smiley

This must have been a singularily phenomenon you experienced in my mansion. At that spot in PoG I can safely jump back and forth from room to room, 5 times in a row,
without a single
game-quit !!!

And apparently some of the above people have managed to do so in your Aquarium as well.... (which I have not yet tested).

There is no problem with JUMPING to the left. Sooner or later one finds the good timing to avoid both lava and snake. The game-quit problem errases by WALKING to the left. See my first post.

But I wouldn't be so sure that it is a "singularily phenomenon", based upon brell's and your experience. I only have to refer to the first Bugsy Malone Mansion, where brell and I also had different experiences with platform 4. And then, see Vern's post from January the 19th about the platform 4 issue.

Probably it depends from the timing if walking to the left leads to success, death or game-quit. If so, then it is still a bug.

There is nothing urgent, so we just wait till Vern comes along. I sent him an email about these, btw.

This morning, I found the time to have a look at your aquarium,
Freddy
.

But I have to report, that NEITHER jumping back NOR walking back from the moving platform to the previous room resulted in a game-quit. I could safely repeat it several times in a row....didn't even die when walking back.

So, neither in
Bugsy's Aquarium
nor in
Palace Of Gore
do we really have a new game-bug, exactly as I assumed before !!

I am therefore happy to report, that I will leave the respective section in Palace Of Gore intact, even though the surprise factor is now a bit gone.... Smiley

Huh Interesting mystery! I have always game-quit when walking to the left AND entering the next room. I can see Jack's toes and the top of his hat. And Jack "only" dies Cry when he is too late to walk to the left, thus misses the roomlink and he falls in the lava of the right room. Undecided

To be continued.
