Actionsoft's latest game, Midnight Mansion 2: The Haunted Hills,  includes 28 mansions. The 8 Built-in mansions have 3 difficulties along with 4 extra custom mansions. We don't have that many other custom MM2 mansions yet. Design your own custom mansion! Info below.  You can find out more about the game here.

The original Midnight Mansion game contains over 150 mansions. The 8 included mansions which have 3 difficulty levels each, and about 115 approved custom mansions which you can download here and also several freely uploaded mansions. To know the difference between these three types of mansions, click here.

Are you a creative person and thinking of designing a mansion yourself? Or want to know about how to upload it? Click here and we'll show you! You'll find guidelines for betatesters here.

News:
Midnight Mansion 2: The Haunted Hills version 1.0.2b has been released. This fixes a bug in Jasperlone Mountains Hard. Simply re-download the game, bring over your custom mansions folder from the old version and play on. All your saves and high scores will not be changed.

Midnight Mansion HD (MM1) is now available at the Mac App Store and at the Actionsoft website. A Windows version is now available.

Here is a list of downloadable MM1 HD ready custom mansions, which also work in the Windows version of the game.

The MM2 custom mansion Hanging Gardens of Babylon by Freddy/SandyBean/Josephine/brell was updated on 19. Nov 2023 to add a fourth section. Available here

Download.com Ratings

Okay, so this *is* related to Midnight Mansion, I just didn't know where else to put it. I could use your help! It seems Download.com added a "ratings" feature at some point, and while Midnight Mansion has gotten great positive comments, no one has made use of the Ratings feature, which could help a bit more. So if you have a free minute, go here and give it 5 stars:

http://www.download.com/Midnight-Mansion/3000-2275_4-10624857.html?tag=lst-0-5

Look at the "Average user rating" just below the Download Now link. There is a blue "Rate it!" link there. You have to become a member to rate it (free), which is a nuisance, but I suppose that way each person can rate it only once.

I'm hoping to get into the "Highest Rated" category. I don't know if you need an editorial review to get there, or if user reviews can do it, but only 2 Mac games are in that category right now, so I figure why not try.

It will be 1.0.8 when they get around to updating their listing. That usually takes several weeks for Download.com, but works out well, because when they do finally get around to updating it, I get listed on their front page for several days.

Vern, on Apple's web site, the Downloads section still has version 1.0.5 of Midnight Mansion. Can you send them an update, too?

Ahhh, thanks for mentioning that! I just "discovered" a whole area of Apple's web site I had never known about. You see, I had previously been using a completely different form to submit Midnight Mansion updates to the Apple Software Guide, and they removed the ability to list version numbers on that, so you can't even submit updates. But that's *completely* separate from this other page for Midnight Mansion that you saw, whicih I just discovered! And that has its own submission process. Wow.

Anyway, I've resubmitted for that, so they'll hopefully update that listing soon. Man, to think all this time, for versions 1.0.6 and 1.0.7, I missed all the traffic that being updated on Apple's site could have brought!

Here's what I *used* to be updating whenever I released a new version of Midnight Mansion, but then they even removed the ability to have version numbers listed.

http://guide.apple.com/action.lasso?-database=macosguide&-layout=cgi_detail&-res...

I always thought the Macintosh Products Guide was rather bare-bones. So it's refreshing to see Apple has an entirely *different* area that's much nicer:

I will be keeping them up-to-date now.
