Actionsoft's latest game, Midnight Mansion 2: The Haunted Hills,  includes 28 mansions. The 8 Built-in mansions have 3 difficulties along with 4 extra custom mansions. We don't have that many other custom MM2 mansions yet. Design your own custom mansion! Info below.  You can find out more about the game here.

The original Midnight Mansion game contains over 150 mansions. The 8 included mansions which have 3 difficulty levels each, and about 115 approved custom mansions which you can download here and also several freely uploaded mansions. To know the difference between these three types of mansions, click here.

Are you a creative person and thinking of designing a mansion yourself? Or want to know about how to upload it? Click here and we'll show you! You'll find guidelines for betatesters here.

News:
Midnight Mansion 2: The Haunted Hills version 1.0.2b has been released. This fixes a bug in Jasperlone Mountains Hard. Simply re-download the game, bring over your custom mansions folder from the old version and play on. All your saves and high scores will not be changed.

Midnight Mansion HD (MM1) is now available at the Mac App Store and at the Actionsoft website. A Windows version is now available.

Here is a list of downloadable MM1 HD ready custom mansions, which also work in the Windows version of the game.

The MM2 custom mansion Hanging Gardens of Babylon by Freddy/SandyBean/Josephine/brell was updated on 19. Nov 2023 to add a fourth section. Available here

Meanwhile..... the latest edition of SCREAM PARK has been sent to SamSkelton who is designing his (first) section next.

If there are other volunteers out there - step forward and be counted !

Apart from Mikee and - maybe - Wingy, who come later in the list, we could need a few more designers willing to take part in creating a DEADLY mansion..... with many lethal, but fun rides that Jack has to master before he arrives at the exit with his last of 100 lives !

OK. So what's the deal here? I'm sure Matt and I could come up with some lethal stuff. And I promise, less spiders.....

Dear Joe,

it would be great if you and Matt would like to participate.

For Scream Park our idea was to "reverse" the usual concept:

In the beginning the player gets enough money to equal approx. 100 lives.... and then Jack will have to master his way through SCREAM PARK, a lethal amusement park with a lot of deadly rides.

Each room should be tough enough for Jack to lose a couple of lives until he finds out how to finally get through that room (=that ride) alive.
The designer should be as creative as possible with those deaths (= not simply finishing him off by lots of creatures, but rather tricky, slippery floors, insane platforms/roller coasters etc.. That type of stuff....).

The goal is:  Jack should manage to arrive at the exit with his last life !

We thought for a change it would be fun to think of as many weird and strange and far-out deadly constructions / rooms as we could....and do it as a shared mansion...like a lethal Catacombs or something.

I'm sure you two can construct many interesting rides that suit the "deadly amusement park scenario", what with your great custom graphics etc.

Let me know if & when you'd like to participate and I'll put you on the list. You will then receive the latest version by e-mail.

We're there, but I don't think custom stuff would work because of the "shared" nature of the mansion unless we (all the designers) could agree on what graphics you'd like us to include. In any case we're in!

Glad to have you on board!

Custom graphics would have worked if we'd planned for it at the beginning, but now that the first few rooms are made, we'd either have to be careful to only replace those tiles that haven't been used yet, or redo the current designs.

The exception would be backgrounds, since we can add more of those. I think custom backgrounds could be used to good effect.

Of course.....
...I had forgotten this !

Indeed it would be problematic if we#d try to include custom graphics at this point.

BUT: Joe & Matt...I know you can do great things without custom graphics (by looking at "Matt & Joe's Place" etc.), in fact sometimes it can be quite refreshing to forced to work "with what is there"......

Quite right aquaMat! It can be a challenge and it would be fun to show folks that we can indeed create within the "standards". Is there a limit to the number of rooms per "ride"?
