A brief history of the game
At first there was Midnight Mansion, now often called MM1. This game package was for Mac only and contained 8 mansions, each on easy, normal and hard level. Above that there was a builder included, so that customers could design mansions themselves.
Then there was Midnight Mansion HD, now abbreviated as MM1 HD for both Mac and Windows. It contained the 3x8 mansions from MM1 plus 3x a bonus mansion: Tomb of Princes. All in high definition!
Actionsoft's latest game, Midnight Mansion 2: The Haunted Hills, includes 28 mansions with a lot of new features. The 8 built-in mansions have 3 difficulties along with 4 extra custom mansions. Yes indeed, the MM2 package also has an included builder to create mansions!

Custom mansions

In the past decades several customers started experimenting with the builders. Creating rooms. Talking about it on the Midnight Mansion Forums. Sending their own designed mansions to other board members to test them. And finally sending them to the administrators of MMF.
Result? Nearly 200 extra mansions are downloadable from these boards and some of them have over 100 rooms.
If you like to download custom mansions, go to the General Custom Mansions Area (Mac and Windows) where you find the lists with all the download spots.

Stuck in 17329 in MM&M

I've spent a frustrating week trying to leap from a zinging fast block to the base of the ladder but keep hitting the pole back down to spider land...is there some special trick to this jump? I am really sick of being in HELL and could use some help here.

This is a very, very ,VERY hard jump! Practise is the only way to master it I believe. Good thing is that you seem to get on the moving platform. Now you need to stand on the right spot and jump on the right moment!

It took me weeks to manage this!

Yeah, this is a very frustrating and hard jump. Stand on the platform as far off the edge as possible without falling into the lava, take the time to study how far the platform goes to the right, and jump at the last possible nanosecond. Good luck!

Thanks all. I have finally made my way to the Ultimate Maze and wandered around trying various things to get to the place to use the many keys I have. From reading earlier messages I see I am going to need a hint as a PM......Freddy would that be you?

You can try to PM Freddy but he has not been around for quite a few days now.  I'll give you a hint:  The ultimate maze is actually two mazes:

The one from the entrance, and

The one to the exit.

You "just" have to find out how to get from one maze to the other  Wink

Zipwin - the Ultimate Maze is also really difficult. You have to use your knowledge and trouble solutions you've already used in this mansion. This part took me even longer to manage and solve (with some help). It is a lot of walking and jumping. I did a map over the maze, otherwise I had been totally lost.

Thanks Rose and Brell. Sounds interesting. I like it when I have to leave something alone for a few days and come back to it from a different angle. I expect I will die many deaths before I figure it out. I only have 14 lives to play with so I may have to go back and try to pick up more....is there actually an order to the rooms? The mansion is so big I can't figure out which rooms you must play first. Or does it really matter. I Love that you can get back to places......

Well there is the difficulty measure from gray (very easy) to brown (very hard) but at least as important is the master puzzle of MM&M.  Those who solve it will save a lot of time.

14 lives is propably not enough to get through the ultimate maze.  Have you skipped anything?  I had about 70 lives when I got to the u. maze but then I skipped nothing and took a great care not to leave any money or rugsacks behind.

I had only 11 lives! I had to restart many times from the last saving point but by time i learned which way to go. It might not be fun to restart but one get very happy when one has solved the puzzle!!!!

There are some places I have not been.....are you supposed to have gone to all the other rooms before the ultimate maze?
