Actionsoft's latest game, Midnight Mansion 2: The Haunted Hills,  includes 28 mansions. The 8 Built-in mansions have 3 difficulties along with 4 extra custom mansions. We don't have that many other custom MM2 mansions yet. Design your own custom mansion! Info below.  You can find out more about the game here.

The original Midnight Mansion game contains over 150 mansions. The 8 included mansions which have 3 difficulty levels each, and about 115 approved custom mansions which you can download here and also several freely uploaded mansions. To know the difference between these three types of mansions, click here.

Are you a creative person and thinking of designing a mansion yourself? Or want to know about how to upload it? Click here and we'll show you! You'll find guidelines for betatesters here.

News:
Midnight Mansion 2: The Haunted Hills version 1.0.2b has been released. This fixes a bug in Jasperlone Mountains Hard. Simply re-download the game, bring over your custom mansions folder from the old version and play on. All your saves and high scores will not be changed.

Midnight Mansion HD (MM1) is now available at the Mac App Store and at the Actionsoft website. A Windows version is now available.

Here is a list of downloadable MM1 HD ready custom mansions, which also work in the Windows version of the game.

The MM2 custom mansion Hanging Gardens of Babylon by Freddy/SandyBean/Josephine/brell was updated on 19. Nov 2023 to add a fourth section. Available here

weird JS in room 16299 of FFM
25.10.2008 at 03:32:33

My girlfriend just discovered a really weird JS in this updated mansion.
In room 16299 there's a grey door at the bottom right. It can be opened WITH A BLUE KEY, meaning there is no way to open the blue door in 16300...

and one more, in 15100, since she came down the pole in 15101 without a yellow key... there's no way back and no way forward... or?

Hi Olle,

man, you and your girlfriend are really some kind of JS finders  Smiley

To my apology: this mansion has never been beta tested. It wasn't as common back in those days as it is now.

Ok, let's get to work: I really don't know how it is possible to open a grey door with a key. Well I tried it myself in room 16299 an IT WORKED  Huh
I thougt may be I left a blue door underneath the grey door. I tried that, but then a key wouldn't
do anything.
I really don't know what causes this phenomenon.
May be Freddy knows.

About the JS in room 15100: there is no back and forth without a yellow key.

So I guess it's time for another update.

Please say thanks to you girlfriend from me.

Greetings

I don't remember whether Freddy or I uploaded Foggy Forest for the first time (not that it really matters) but custom mansions have always been beta tested since the first MM forums (this is the third one) to my best knowledge.  Which means that we thought FF was beta tested.

Are you sure this is not the same phenomenon as in Freddy's Whiskey Bar?  As you know we have two door sizes due to a different size of the lower door parts. So it is possible to put a larger lower part over a smaller lower part.  Then the key that opens the hidden part works on both doors.

Well, when FFM was released neiher you or Freddy were Admins, so no lack of memory on your side  Wink.
It was released in the first MM forum and as I said it wasn't a must or a rule to beta test mansions then. Some did, some didn't.
Otherwise FFM wouldn't have been released, would it?

But FFM being beta tested or not - I don't think this is the problem here, because in almost every tested mansions players discover JSs or cheep death after it's released, and often more than one.
No offence to beta testers here!

Explanation:
To me it is just amazing that players, after a mansion is around for quite some time (FFM about 2 years) teseted or not, still discover JSs.
It shows to me, that there are so many different ways to play MM.
I mean bumping Jack into a grey door without looking for a lever to open it before (and then opening it with a key) - that is a very inovative way to play MM.
But as we can see there are players who do such things, no matter why, and discover mistakes the designer has made. Good!

If you and Olle think that FFM still has to be beta tested after being around for about two years now, go ahead - I don't mind. Might spare me more than one more update.

Actually I didn't know and never cared what Freddy did in Whisky Bar, I just enjoyed playing it  Smiley

But thanks for that!
Your hint to Freddys Whisky Bar showed the issue that caused the problem.
When I tried to figure out what causes this phenomenon yesterday, I didn't tried different door sizes.
It seems that I forgot to delete a lower part of a small blue door before I put a large grey door at the same spot. That made it possible for Olles girlfriend to open a grey door with a key.

greetings

@ frost:
Is an update coming? After Olle + gf maybe have a thorough walkthrough?

Btw, no interest of being a volunteer for a Catacombs-section?
