A brief history of the game
At first there was Midnight Mansion, now often called MM1. This game package was for Mac only and contained 8 mansions, each on easy, normal and hard level. Above that there was a builder included, so that customers could design mansions themselves.
Then there was Midnight Mansion HD, now abbreviated as MM1 HD for both Mac and Windows. It contained the 3x8 mansions from MM1 plus 3x a bonus mansion: Tomb of Princes. All in high definition!
Actionsoft's latest game, Midnight Mansion 2: The Haunted Hills, includes 28 mansions with a lot of new features. The 8 built-in mansions have 3 difficulties along with 4 extra custom mansions. Yes indeed, the MM2 package also has an included builder to create mansions!

Custom mansions

In the past decades several customers started experimenting with the builders. Creating rooms. Talking about it on the Midnight Mansion Forums. Sending their own designed mansions to other board members to test them. And finally sending them to the administrators of MMF.
Result? Nearly 200 extra mansions are downloadable from these boards and some of them have over 100 rooms.
If you like to download custom mansions, go to the General Custom Mansions Area (Mac and Windows) where you find the lists with all the download spots.

I'm having trouble with Dr. Demented's Den 7025 - for some reason I can't solve the troll puzzle. Any hints? Thanks!

Which version are you doing, easy, normal or hard? Also double check the room number because there is no room 7025 in any of the versions.

Hit Command + D and the room number will be in the upper left of the screen.

Have you gone through the Tutorial mansion? If not, you should play that to learn all the new features in MM2.

Those blue haired trolls are helpers for Jack. They mimic his every move and can do useful things for him that he can't reach. If Jack wants to stay in one spot but wants the troll to move, he (Jack) can either get on a ladder or bend down by holding the down arrow.

Just play around with the levers to learn what each one does and you'll figure it out. If unsuccessful, just leave the room and come back to reset everything.

Good luck.  Cool

I am having the same issue. I went into the editor to see if I was missing something and it doesn't seem like it. It seems more likely that the levers were mixed up and that the troll should be activating the platform while Jack activates the trap door.

I just checked the room in the editor and tested it again, and it seemed fine to me.  How do you think it is broken?

Edit: Just played all the way through Normal again - all seemed fine.

Sorry, I'm looking at a completely different room in the same mansion with a troll puzzle! Rm 16700.

Well, I can't for the life of me get that troll down to the bottom lever to activate the platform that will let Jack cross over safely to get the key. There's no ladder or way for it to fall down to the lower level.

15707 is tricky, but does work. Sorry about the mixup.

Yup, there is. *shakes head*  Roll Eyes I LOVE the troll puzzles; they are my favourite part of the new game!

Haha. I guess sometimes the things that cause people to bash their heads against walls, and think that there is a bug in the mansion, is simultaneously still the favorite new feature in the game. Haha. Smiley
