Actionsoft's latest game, Midnight Mansion 2: The Haunted Hills,  includes 28 mansions. The 8 Built-in mansions have 3 difficulties along with 4 extra custom mansions. We don't have that many other custom MM2 mansions yet. Design your own custom mansion! Info below.  You can find out more about the game here.

The original Midnight Mansion game contains over 150 mansions. The 8 included mansions which have 3 difficulty levels each, and about 115 approved custom mansions which you can download here and also several freely uploaded mansions. To know the difference between these three types of mansions, click here.

Are you a creative person and thinking of designing a mansion yourself? Or want to know about how to upload it? Click here and we'll show you! You'll find guidelines for betatesters here.

News:
Midnight Mansion 2: The Haunted Hills version 1.0.2b has been released. This fixes a bug in Jasperlone Mountains Hard. Simply re-download the game, bring over your custom mansions folder from the old version and play on. All your saves and high scores will not be changed.

Midnight Mansion HD (MM1) is now available at the Mac App Store and at the Actionsoft website. A Windows version is now available.

Here is a list of downloadable MM1 HD ready custom mansions, which also work in the Windows version of the game.

The MM2 custom mansion Hanging Gardens of Babylon by Freddy/SandyBean/Josephine/brell was updated on 19. Nov 2023 to add a fourth section. Available here

Secrets in Mt. Peril Normal
07.10.2010 at 13:22:49

Has there been a change in the number of secrets from version 1.0.0 to 1.0.1? In the 1.0.1 version, MLB2 says there are 17, but a scan of all the rooms reveals only 16. Or is there a way to have a secret that can't be seen in MLB2? Or am I just a blind old so-and-so?

I have had the same thought. I can't for my life get the 17th secret.  Angry

There are 17 secrets according to my version which is in 1.0.1, so it's there... somewhere. Roll Eyes

Check each section to see if you got them all: (Spoilers)

4 in the 'mine/storage' section (The bottom left section)
1 in the 'elevator shafts' section
3 in the 'sky platform' section - one of which is accessed from the green section.
2 in the 'green fortress' section (The top)
5 in the 'church/dark crypt' section - one of which is accessed from the cave section
2 in the cave section - one of which is actually in the elevator shaft section but accessed from the cave section.

... and that's 17.

Anthony:

In the section you reference in the third line of your list (spoilers), if "one of which is accessed from..." includes room 15098, then I have to say I'm not seeing any secret in that series of rooms. Hm.

Huh... I don't have a way of checking at the moment, but was this one of the mansions that was fixed in the last update as far as secrets go? Do you have the 1.0.1 version seawinder?

I'm probably wrong, but I thought I'd throw the idea out there.

This was one of the mansions updated, it was only the number of secrets was incorrect that was fixed.

Anthony:
I'm having trouble matching what I'm seeing for secrets with your descriptions. Here are the sixteen rooms where I find secrets (going room by room in the editor):
SPOILER ALERT
15301, 15303, 15502, 15504, 15695, 15699, 15899, 15905, 16101, 16303, 16305, 16306, 16698, 17298, 17300, 17698
.

Yes, I have 1.0.1. In fact I re-downloaded it just to make sure.

Is it possible to have a secret placed so it's hidden in the editor by another object?

Can someone put me out of my misery: check out the list of rooms with secrets in my last post and let me know where the 17th one is, assuming it exists?

TIA

You're missing the secret in 15098.
The "S" is behind the painting in that room in the editor and being hidden.

Two notes:
• You can select the blue "S" in the editor and in the special menu and using the "Find Sprite in Mansion" and it will tell you each room.

• You shouldn't use the editor to find secret, the game would lose its shine quickly, and it is (to me at least) essentially cheating, sort of. Asking for hints on the forums is the way to go, which you were doing, so that's good. Tongue
