A brief history of the game
At first there was Midnight Mansion, now often called MM1. This game package was for Mac only and contained 8 mansions, each on easy, normal and hard level. Above that there was a builder included, so that customers could design mansions themselves.
Then there was Midnight Mansion HD, now abbreviated as MM1 HD for both Mac and Windows. It contained the 3x8 mansions from MM1 plus 3x a bonus mansion: Tomb of Princes. All in high definition!
Actionsoft's latest game, Midnight Mansion 2: The Haunted Hills, includes 28 mansions with a lot of new features. The 8 built-in mansions have 3 difficulties along with 4 extra custom mansions. Yes indeed, the MM2 package also has an included builder to create mansions!

Custom mansions

In the past decades several customers started experimenting with the builders. Creating rooms. Talking about it on the Midnight Mansion Forums. Sending their own designed mansions to other board members to test them. And finally sending them to the administrators of MMF.
Result? Nearly 200 extra mansions are downloadable from these boards and some of them have over 100 rooms.
If you like to download custom mansions, go to the General Custom Mansions Area (Mac and Windows) where you find the lists with all the download spots.

Shake, Rattle, and Roll

Anyone else feel the earthquake today? It happened within 50 miles of where I work in Columbia, MD and I definitely felt it at work in our 12-story office building! Haven't felt one that strong since I lived in Alaska.  Traffic was extra fun going home.

Pretty crazy week on the East coast for sure... from Earthquake (albeit a fairly small one), to a hurricane. Nice.  I live on a pretty big hill so I shouldn't be flooded out, but the rain and wind is something else. I can't recall hearing of a hurricane treated as seriously as this one in this area. It's kind of nuts. Not really my idea of a fun weekend, but could be worse I guess. Hope everyone else who visits this forum is safe!

OMGosh !  I hope everyone is ok over there  Shocked  Saw the new's flash warnings about the Wind, Rain and Hurricane/Tornado, and even up into Toronto for warnings.

Over here in lil' ole Deroche, Mission, BC, Canada, it's been hot and 'mosquitoey', so I think I'll stop complaining about that and just count my blessings  Wink

Take care you guys, and sending thoughts your way for everyone's safety and well being,

I'm OK. The wind and rain were nasty, but no real problems I think. We were prepared for a lot worse. Our power cut out about 3 times, but each time it came back on a few minutes after it went out. That's usually been the case for us, fortunately. I haven't wandered too far from the house, yet. There's a marina about a mile or two from the house, and I suspect that there was some flooding - hopefully not too bad.

Good to hear you're ok Rob, sounds like some real wicked stuff, but always better to 'plan for the worst, hope for the best, and settle for something in the middle!".  Glad your power was only gone for a bit.

Out here in Deroche, when we loose power, we're last on the list... being in the boonies and all the 'city folk' gotta be looked after first, of course.  We've lived here 11 yrs now, and the longest we have gone is 5 days without electricity.  Most times it's a day or two.  For the long outage, we packed block ice in the deep freeze, and blanketed it so we wouldn't lose all $ worth of frozen groceries in there, and since we are on a pump for water from our mountain creek, we had to tote all the water we needed in by hand !!!  (luckily the creek is only about 200 feet from our house).  And meals were cooked on either our woodstove, or on the propane camping stove, and somewhat intimate in the eves, since we dined by candlelight or lanterns !!!  Off to bed early too as I recall !
Wink

Semi-Native... have you heard from your brother?  Huh

take care guys, and hope the worst is over !

SandyBean, yes my brother is fine, thanks so much for asking. His power came back on about 1 pm Sunday. He has a generator, so he used that for the refrigerator and a floor fan.
