Actionsoft's latest game, Midnight Mansion 2: The Haunted Hills,  includes 28 mansions. The 8 Built-in mansions have 3 difficulties along with 4 extra custom mansions. We don't have that many other custom MM2 mansions yet. Design your own custom mansion! Info below.  You can find out more about the game here.

The original Midnight Mansion game contains over 150 mansions. The 8 included mansions which have 3 difficulty levels each, and about 115 approved custom mansions which you can download here and also several freely uploaded mansions. To know the difference between these three types of mansions, click here.

Are you a creative person and thinking of designing a mansion yourself? Or want to know about how to upload it? Click here and we'll show you! You'll find guidelines for betatesters here.

News:
Midnight Mansion 2: The Haunted Hills version 1.0.2b has been released. This fixes a bug in Jasperlone Mountains Hard. Simply re-download the game, bring over your custom mansions folder from the old version and play on. All your saves and high scores will not be changed.

Midnight Mansion HD (MM1) is now available at the Mac App Store and at the Actionsoft website. A Windows version is now available.

Here is a list of downloadable MM1 HD ready custom mansions, which also work in the Windows version of the game.

The MM2 custom mansion Hanging Gardens of Babylon by Freddy/SandyBean/Josephine/brell was updated on 19. Nov 2023 to add a fourth section. Available here

A note to builders of original MM1 custom mansions

It would be most appreciated if the authors of the original MM1 custom mansions can check if their mansions are HD ready and perhaps make necessary changes if needed.  After that please send a note to one of the admins with the zipped HD ready version of your mansion.

Of course this only applies to cm's that are not listed here.

Does your mansion contain any custom graphics?  If so, you need to wait until Anthony (and hopefully other custom graphic users) find out how to make those mansions playable in the HD.  If you want to participate in solving the custom graphics issue then you should perhaps start a thread in the custom mansions art board.

If your mansion does not contain any cg, then you simply need to check whether it is playable from the beginning to the end in the HD format.  Read Vern's FAQ to find out how to convert it to a HD ready format and then play your old mansion from the beginning to the end.

The things to look for are:
1. Are there any ladder issues (if you have made any ladders using ladder tiles in an unorthodox way, like in some of Freddy's mansions).
2. Are there any levers that are not in level with Jack (if not he can't pull them).
3. Does Jack ever have to jump from a ghost platform in one room to another one in the next room?  If so, they both need to be of the thick type since the thin ones are always off when Jack arrives in a new room.

There may be some more issues that I don't know of.

This is all I know of converting custom graphics:

To quote Vern:

"... upgrade the graphics by:

1) Converting them to PNG images with alpha mask,
2) Resizing them to be identical in size to the current graphics of that resource number in Game Data/Sprites.

Then they'll work. So custom graphics *can* be used. They just have to be resized and saved in .PNG format."
