Actionsoft's latest game, Midnight Mansion 2: The Haunted Hills,  includes 28 mansions. The 8 Built-in mansions have 3 difficulties along with 4 extra custom mansions. We don't have that many other custom MM2 mansions yet. Design your own custom mansion! Info below.  You can find out more about the game here.

The original Midnight Mansion game contains over 150 mansions. The 8 included mansions which have 3 difficulty levels each, and about 115 approved custom mansions which you can download here and also several freely uploaded mansions. To know the difference between these three types of mansions, click here.

Are you a creative person and thinking of designing a mansion yourself? Or want to know about how to upload it? Click here and we'll show you! You'll find guidelines for betatesters here.

News:
Midnight Mansion 2: The Haunted Hills version 1.0.2b has been released. This fixes a bug in Jasperlone Mountains Hard. Simply re-download the game, bring over your custom mansions folder from the old version and play on. All your saves and high scores will not be changed.

Midnight Mansion HD (MM1) is now available at the Mac App Store and at the Actionsoft website. A Windows version is now available.

Here is a list of downloadable MM1 HD ready custom mansions, which also work in the Windows version of the game.

The MM2 custom mansion Hanging Gardens of Babylon by Freddy/SandyBean/Josephine/brell was updated on 19. Nov 2023 to add a fourth section. Available here

Screen gets clipped in "stretch" mode
08.09.2011 at 07:42:57

OS 10.7.1
MMHD 1.0.0

I've noticed that when I choose the "full screen" and "stretch" options, after I move around a few rooms, sometimes an inch or two gets clipped off the left and right sides of the view.  I can still see Jack moving from room to room, but the walls and floor are gone.  Undecided

Can you post a screenshot or two of this? (Command-shift-3) Please take one of the screenshots where Jack is visible on the sides but the walls/floor is not. Thanks.

Here you go, I've got the same problem. Not interfering too much with the pleasure that I'm getting from the game.

Alan and Rhywun -- what native resolution is your display? (i.e. what is the maximum resolution you can choose in the Displays system preferences panel?)

The reason I ask is that the picture you posted is 1280x1024, which would be a 1.25 aspect ratio (or "tall"). Normal aspect ration for older displays was 1.33333, for say 800x600. Most Macs nowadays ship with "widescreen" which is 1.6 aspect ration (such as mine: 1680x1050).

What kind of Mac do you have? I'm curious what ships with such a weird display ratio.

Anyway, Midnight Mansion is totally untested on "tall" displays. I'm assuming when you play with "stretch to fit" turned off, fullscreen, that there are black borders at the top and bottom of the screen? Can you send a screenshot of this?

The "Stretch to fit" is currently only coded to stretch to fit wide displays, not tall ones. I don't have any tall ones to test on either, so it might be hard to fix this. Do you really need "stretch to fit"?

Mac Mini, 1.66 GHz Intel Core Duo. Mac OS X 10.6.8. Yeah, yeah, I need an upgrade:). Until you mentioned it I hadn't even noticed the stretch to fit option, which, when applied seems to correct the problem. Thanks. I'll get back to you if it comes back.

I just fixed this. Well mostly. It took me two WHOLE DAYS to get this sorted out. It's actually not quite perfect -- there is a small gap between the stats panel and the top of the gameplay area when the "stretch to fit" is turned off. But it's close enough.
