A brief history of the game
At first there was Midnight Mansion, now often called MM1. This game package was for Mac only and contained 8 mansions, each on easy, normal and hard level. Above that there was a builder included, so that customers could design mansions themselves.
Then there was Midnight Mansion HD, now abbreviated as MM1 HD for both Mac and Windows. It contained the 3x8 mansions from MM1 plus 3x a bonus mansion: Tomb of Princes. All in high definition!
Actionsoft's latest game, Midnight Mansion 2: The Haunted Hills, includes 28 mansions with a lot of new features. The 8 built-in mansions have 3 difficulties along with 4 extra custom mansions. Yes indeed, the MM2 package also has an included builder to create mansions!

Custom mansions

In the past decades several customers started experimenting with the builders. Creating rooms. Talking about it on the Midnight Mansion Forums. Sending their own designed mansions to other board members to test them. And finally sending them to the administrators of MMF.
Result? Nearly 200 extra mansions are downloadable from these boards and some of them have over 100 rooms.
If you like to download custom mansions, go to the General Custom Mansions Area (Mac and Windows) where you find the lists with all the download spots.

Hi Freddy,

this afternoon I played & finished your (new) building in A Deserted Holiday Village... I forgot to pay attention on how many shield I had left, though....but I'm sure it was much less than 6 !!

BUT:  Even though I saved with 100 % secrets, and had no key left, there remained an unopened green door !!!

Was that on purpose...or did you forget to supply the key ??
Or have I missed the key ?  (I doubt it though).

Sorry, aquaMat. You missed the key, although ... it isn't hidden.

On demand of several starting MM-players, I made a few things a little bit easier in
A Deserted Holiday Village
. Starting with the entrance through the chimney!

Version 2.1 is downloadable now.

Version 3.0, with 2 extra green houses, is downloadable now. The village is growing but stays easy to play, although maybe normal at a few places. Somewhere is an "unpleasant" red kite. But that may happen in the woods, isn't it?

I also tried to keep the backtracking between reasonable limits. Hope I succeeded.

Take care at the fork with all green and blue doors! When you are in trouble, there is an emergency exit AND a saving point in the room before to restart game. But I think it is clear about what one has to do. Especially concerning the snakes.

Between saving points 2 and 3 there are a few green doors.  I succeeded in opening all but one because I couldn't find the last green key.  Is this a question in which order you open those doors and if so, is there any clue to that order?  Please no giveaways  Wink

There are 3 green doors, 3 green keys AND the map. That map must help you about the following order.

(There is something similar with yellow keys and doors even before the first save!)

I finally won this one after playing just 2 or 3 times. I have a love/hate relationship with mazes and the first time got confused with the first section and couldn't find my way around. Kind of like I did the first few times with the grey door puzzle in Falcon Manor Easy. I never did figure out how to get the backpack at the start of the first green house. I didn't get all of the money, only 7575 but did get all 100% secrets. So I'd say as a beginning player, yes this is overall easy. And thank goodness for the save pedestals. The first one I was down to 1 life.  Cheesy

Thx for visiting
A Deserted Holiday Village
.

It is very important for me (and I suppose also for all other mansion-designers) to know the impressions of starting players.
