A brief history of the game
At first there was Midnight Mansion, now often called MM1. This game package was for Mac only and contained 8 mansions, each on easy, normal and hard level. Above that there was a builder included, so that customers could design mansions themselves.
Then there was Midnight Mansion HD, now abbreviated as MM1 HD for both Mac and Windows. It contained the 3x8 mansions from MM1 plus 3x a bonus mansion: Tomb of Princes. All in high definition!
Actionsoft's latest game, Midnight Mansion 2: The Haunted Hills, includes 28 mansions with a lot of new features. The 8 built-in mansions have 3 difficulties along with 4 extra custom mansions. Yes indeed, the MM2 package also has an included builder to create mansions!

Custom mansions

In the past decades several customers started experimenting with the builders. Creating rooms. Talking about it on the Midnight Mansion Forums. Sending their own designed mansions to other board members to test them. And finally sending them to the administrators of MMF.
Result? Nearly 200 extra mansions are downloadable from these boards and some of them have over 100 rooms.
If you like to download custom mansions, go to the General Custom Mansions Area (Mac and Windows) where you find the lists with all the download spots.

Alternates to Death

Vern,

I know this is kind of late but I was just thinking that it would be nice if instead of being penalized just by death there could be a point decrementer. For instance you run into or over certain types of bricks or critters and instead of dying or taking a shield you take points. Just a thought.....

Take 1000 points the same as a life?  Huh What if when you loose 1000 points you also loose a life?  Shocked I kinda like being paralized for like 10 seconds instead of death or score taking. Score taking would mess up alot of people if they're playing the mansion again for money! They'd have to start again or load a save point!  Shocked If there is a vote, I disagree with Joe.  Sad

That's NOT what I said. Just take points. Yes if you're playing a mansion for points then it would affect your score but so does not being able to get to a bag of gold or whatever. You lose a life there and the points as well! What I'm saying is just take points.

Same thing. You can't move out of the way of some disaster so you die and lose points getting a new life. Again, dead and loss of points.

That doesn't happen now??????

Since this doesn't exist there's no reason to VOTE! Just throwing out an idea.

Ok... but I was suggesting if this went through that it should take a life and 1000 points on you point-trap.  Wink I don't think anything is going to happen.

BTW: Now I'm an expedition leader! Yay! 501th post!

What if certain creatures could trigger events in the game? Like if you accidentally get hit by a scorpion, the door to the next room closes permanently and keeps you from getting the treasure in there? It would be just like taking points away.

Triggered events would be awesome!!!! But how hard to program, that's really the question.
