A brief history of the game
At first there was Midnight Mansion, now often called MM1. This game package was for Mac only and contained 8 mansions, each on easy, normal and hard level. Above that there was a builder included, so that customers could design mansions themselves.
Then there was Midnight Mansion HD, now abbreviated as MM1 HD for both Mac and Windows. It contained the 3x8 mansions from MM1 plus 3x a bonus mansion: Tomb of Princes. All in high definition!
Actionsoft's latest game, Midnight Mansion 2: The Haunted Hills, includes 28 mansions with a lot of new features. The 8 built-in mansions have 3 difficulties along with 4 extra custom mansions. Yes indeed, the MM2 package also has an included builder to create mansions!

Custom mansions

In the past decades several customers started experimenting with the builders. Creating rooms. Talking about it on the Midnight Mansion Forums. Sending their own designed mansions to other board members to test them. And finally sending them to the administrators of MMF.
Result? Nearly 200 extra mansions are downloadable from these boards and some of them have over 100 rooms.
If you like to download custom mansions, go to the General Custom Mansions Area (Mac and Windows) where you find the lists with all the download spots.

How did Jack get up there with the gray door closed? Did he jump off that fast moving platform?

I think you are stuck.   Tongue

First time playing this part of the mansion my Jack also got stuck there. You have to start from the last save.  Angry

Yep.. stuck. Sorry about that. I should have added escape platforms here. I'll send a patch to Vern.

Did you report this as a JS? I don't remember seeing that report.

No, Rob, I didn't.  I was very late playing this part and I thought it was only me making things difficult! Sorry!

That's OK Wink

I never would have thought you were just trying to be difficult and wouldn't have been upset.  Oh... I might have grumbled a bit (I was pretty tired towards the end of testing), but I would have been thankful anyway.

I can tell that I thought this might be problem because of the sign I put at the top. Still... I shouldn't have relied on players reading that sign - I don't know what I was thinking. I must have missed this on my last sweep through the mansion.

Fortunately, the fix shouldn't be too bad...

Windrider's Jack has super powers to be able to jump off that platform and not die.

Windrider - I feel bad that you got stuck there, and I hope you made use of the last save point since it really wasn't that far back from where you were.

Unfortunately, the "fix" will not help your situation, since all it really does is take further (lethal) steps to prevent Jack from opening those doors prematurely. I considered using escape platforms, however they are slightly problematic here. Then, I tried extra gray doors which also didn't work as I hoped (no sense going into the gory details).

Instead I settled on zappers in front of each yellow door, that could be deactivated as Jack progressed through the maze in the middle of the room. That ended up being closest to my original intention.

I'll send it to Vern as soon as I finish testing it out. Thanks very much for reporting the issue!

Update: - I sent the updated mansion to Vern last week. As I mentioned in this post, the update will prevent anyone else from getting into your situation.
