A brief history of the game
At first there was Midnight Mansion, now often called MM1. This game package was for Mac only and contained 8 mansions, each on easy, normal and hard level. Above that there was a builder included, so that customers could design mansions themselves.
Then there was Midnight Mansion HD, now abbreviated as MM1 HD for both Mac and Windows. It contained the 3x8 mansions from MM1 plus 3x a bonus mansion: Tomb of Princes. All in high definition!
Actionsoft's latest game, Midnight Mansion 2: The Haunted Hills, includes 28 mansions with a lot of new features. The 8 built-in mansions have 3 difficulties along with 4 extra custom mansions. Yes indeed, the MM2 package also has an included builder to create mansions!

Custom mansions

In the past decades several customers started experimenting with the builders. Creating rooms. Talking about it on the Midnight Mansion Forums. Sending their own designed mansions to other board members to test them. And finally sending them to the administrators of MMF.
Result? Nearly 200 extra mansions are downloadable from these boards and some of them have over 100 rooms.
If you like to download custom mansions, go to the General Custom Mansions Area (Mac and Windows) where you find the lists with all the download spots.

Room 16892 in Nightmare Mansion Easy
12.02.2016 at 06:02:10

I've been replaying this mansion trying to get all the money/secrets. I'm just about to finish all the green area, but I'm unable to get down the ladder in the room mentioned. There's a discontinuity in the ladder with a zapper beam. No matter what I do, Jack falls to his death at that point. I've tried holding the left or right arrows with the down arrow, but no joy. Getting down the ladder is the only way to reach room 16893 and the money therein. Another weird thing: when I bring the mansion into Level Builder and test the room, I can get down the ladder with no problem. Any thoughts/ideas?

If I remember right this is a glitch that hasn't been repaired.

Thanks for the reply, Rose. Glad to see there are at least a few folks checking this board. I'll just forgo the coin in the interest of survival.

Hi seawinder. I still check the boards every day, but there's not anything I can do to fix problems with mansions. I'm very sad that this community has died, it was so great before. I miss it.

Hi seawinder, this may help you- try changing the screen resolution so your game window is as big as possible. There have been a couple of times where precise timing was required, and a bigger screen allowed Jack to creep more slowly. Honestly can't remember where I used this trick, and #16892 might be a real glitch (can't remember that either  Tongue  ) but it's worth a try.
