Actionsoft's latest game, Midnight Mansion 2: The Haunted Hills,  includes 28 mansions. The 8 Built-in mansions have 3 difficulties along with 4 extra custom mansions. We don't have that many other custom MM2 mansions yet. Design your own custom mansion! Info below.  You can find out more about the game here.

The original Midnight Mansion game contains over 150 mansions. The 8 included mansions which have 3 difficulty levels each, and about 115 approved custom mansions which you can download here and also several freely uploaded mansions. To know the difference between these three types of mansions, click here.

Are you a creative person and thinking of designing a mansion yourself? Or want to know about how to upload it? Click here and we'll show you! You'll find guidelines for betatesters here.

News:
Midnight Mansion 2: The Haunted Hills version 1.0.2b has been released. This fixes a bug in Jasperlone Mountains Hard. Simply re-download the game, bring over your custom mansions folder from the old version and play on. All your saves and high scores will not be changed.

Midnight Mansion HD (MM1) is now available at the Mac App Store and at the Actionsoft website. A Windows version is now available.

Here is a list of downloadable MM1 HD ready custom mansions, which also work in the Windows version of the game.

The MM2 custom mansion Hanging Gardens of Babylon by Freddy/SandyBean/Josephine/brell was updated on 19. Nov 2023 to add a fourth section. Available here

having two problems:

Save pedestals behind blue doors

Jack has spotted several save pedestals behind blue doors along with a blue and green key but can't for the life of him (literally...) find a single blue key to open even one of these.
is there a blue key to be had anywhere in the first area (where you go down into 16096 and then to the left) or anywhere else in the mansion?

Rooms 15707/15097 area

after coming through the two red doors in 15704 with no more keys left, Jack is now stuck in the silver/gold puzzle area.
the trick seems to be getting a purple key to open one of the doors in order to proceed but that doesn't seem to be possible.
any suggestions/hints on how to proceed?

The blue doors come later, you can't open them until you're nearing the end of the game.

The silver/gold block puzzle is very hard the first time through. Read the signs about the lever handle colors, that will help you solve the puzzle. You're not stuck, just keep exploring.

Good luck!

many thanks for the encouragement - it was a big help.  Jack had great fun working through the next sections and finally  collected the long-sought after blue key, 4 green & blue keys.  then.......

Jack ended up in 15910 with only a blue key.  rats.
after searching high and low there is no sign of another green key.

any additional words of wisdom?

Hmmm... you should have encountered 5 rooms that had a green and blue key in them in your travels to get to this point - one in each area.  The only one I can think of that's possible to bypass without seeing it is in the first area, not far from the troll outpost.

Are you sure you've checked them all? If it's the one in the first area, there's a few different approaches that will take you there.

You're almost there... so close. Of course, once you get there, there's still a little left to do, but that would be telling Wink

WoW !!!

I did all the included mansions at 'normal', and have now gone back to do them all at 'hard'.

Was I ever delighted and astonished to find DDD almost like an entirely New Mansion !!!

It's huge...and tough, and trying at times, and Jack and I had tonnes of fun at the end with the wonderful "Key Treasure Room".  What a marvel, and such great work, I really enjoyed having to figure out that last puzzle, and it looks really cool on the map, too !

Kudo's, and totally well done !  Smiley

Thanks so much,

SandyBean  Smiley

On behalf of myself and the awesome testers who played through its rooms many, many times... You're welcome!  I'm glad you enjoyed it. Your post really made my day - thanks.

Much credit to Vern for allowing me to make "a few changes" after I was critical about it being too close to the Normal version during testing. He was really supportive despite the fact that I got a little carried away with it. I don't think either of us really expected it to grow like it did.  The final treasure room maze was something I was particularly happy with.

You'll find that a few of the HARD mansions differ quite a bit from their NORMAL versions... this was a lot of extra work but totally worthwhile IMO.  I was happy to be a part of it.

Dr. Demented Den's Hard should be called "The Game That Never Ends"! It alone is worth the cost of the game! It's funny; I hated the 'hard' versions of the first game and didn't get through a single one of them, but I've made it through all the ones in this game. DDDH was my favourite of all the levels at all difficulties. It was challenging, but all the save pedestals kept it from getting too frustrating. I finished with 91% secrets. Thanks for giving us such good value for our money!

You're welcome, and thanks for the praise! I had fun working on it. It was important to me to keep it recognizable enough to the other levels, but at the same time try and create a new experience that would keep things fresh even if you had played the Easy and Normal versions. I also tried to add some new things I hadn't seen in some of the other mansions.

I'm pretty happy with how it turned out, though I was a little concerned about the length and the time it takes to complete. I definitely didn't do myself or the testers any favors there and it was at least part of the reason for all the save points. There's a few rooms I'd do differently if I had to do it again, but I think that's probably always going to be the case.
