A brief history of the game
At first there was Midnight Mansion, now often called MM1. This game package was for Mac only and contained 8 mansions, each on easy, normal and hard level. Above that there was a builder included, so that customers could design mansions themselves.
Then there was Midnight Mansion HD, now abbreviated as MM1 HD for both Mac and Windows. It contained the 3x8 mansions from MM1 plus 3x a bonus mansion: Tomb of Princes. All in high definition!
Actionsoft's latest game, Midnight Mansion 2: The Haunted Hills, includes 28 mansions with a lot of new features. The 8 built-in mansions have 3 difficulties along with 4 extra custom mansions. Yes indeed, the MM2 package also has an included builder to create mansions!

Custom mansions

In the past decades several customers started experimenting with the builders. Creating rooms. Talking about it on the Midnight Mansion Forums. Sending their own designed mansions to other board members to test them. And finally sending them to the administrators of MMF.
Result? Nearly 200 extra mansions are downloadable from these boards and some of them have over 100 rooms.
If you like to download custom mansions, go to the General Custom Mansions Area (Mac and Windows) where you find the lists with all the download spots.

Thanks for the replies. A few minutes ago my Jack arrived at Save #4. He found a not hinted secret somewhere at the left of that 8 rooms long yellow pole.

@ rose: do you mean that at Save #2 I should have 1+6=7 secrets? That should mean that I am missing the two others between the first two saving points.

Finished it with all secrets and money in just a little bit more than half an hour.

Is it possible that this nice mansion was designed by Psychotronic? The way of using the BBBs (is this acronym for brown blackboards still in use?) and of creating the dark rooms are the most obvious issues that gave me that feeling.

Jacob created the basic design for Normal (and Hard), and Vern adapted the Normal design for Easy. Fun mansion - I especially liked the Hard version.

Freddy, if by "not hinted" you are referring to what I think you are, I must disagree.  The hint is very subtle and would have been impossible in the old MM.

I assume that there must have been some glow that I didn't notice.

What brings me to some novelties that I saw so far in HD.

1. Keys replacing shields in a full rugsack is a major advantage. Smiley

2. Glow around keys work in both ways. Like in ToP easy it may be used as a hint. But for builders it will be more complicated to hide keys. (Although conservative builders will say that keys are not supposed to be hided. Since, if there hided, there is not a clear puzzle anymore.)

3. Nice light and shadow work in the HD version.

4. No more ladder jumps in the official mansions. Cry But, to my surprise, still possible in the custom mansions!! Cool

Yes, Freddy, we all opted for ladder jumps in the custom mansions to Verns dismay. He just isn't used to them.
